When a busty woman sits down next to him, he attempts to impress her with a completely made-up story about how he and Cole vanquished vampires from New Marais. But while Festival of Blood delivers a solid gaming experience worthy of the Infamous universe, I was still left a bit disappointed not only with the muddled nature of the story being told, but with the short length of this adventure as well.įestival of Blood begins with Cole's best friend Zeke sitting alone in a bar. As a standalone title that takes place within Infamous 2's setting of New Marais but doesn't actually require you to own or have played Infamous 2, there was promise with this downloadable $10 title to tell a different sort of story.
The thing is, now that I'm finished with the game, I realize that Festival of Blood wasn't quite what I expected or wanted it to be. So needless to say, I was excited to finally get my hands on Infamous: Festival of Blood. It was the solid nature of both Infamous titles that had me beat each multiple times, earn Platinum Trophies in both, and generally rant and rave about the series. I'm a big fan of Cole MacGrath and his intriguing rise from every-man bike messenger to reluctant superhero (or supervillain). Infamous was one of my favorite games of 2009, and likewise, Infamous 2 sits high atop my list of best games of 2011.
